Behold… My Grey Matter doth Engorge…
But not in a good way… Day 2 went less well than day 1.
About 3/4’s into the procedure, I started getting extreme nausea, dizzy and feverish. So they paged my neurologist and she shut it down on the spot. Last nights headache was a 5 or 6 out of ten, like I said last night it was a good strong headache but not unbearable. The nurses and clinic folk told me with the amount of pre-medication they gave me, I should have had no more than a 1 or 2. The fact that I had a 5 or 6 does not bode well. So they pumped me full of pre-meds again and off we went.
I was doing Ok, but then started feeling queasy and they got nervous quickly, as of course did I…. They were understandably not keen on having the same outcome as last time, neither of course was I… so they stopped the procedure – pumped me full of still more meds and sent me home. Been on tylenol and advil, plus rotating ice packs on the base of my neck and the brain stem – trying to keep the swelling at bay. Good times…
Have another headache but the meds and fluids and ice seem to be working – my headache is only a 3 or 4 and temp has been fluctuating between normal and slightly high…praying to the gods that it stays where it is…
Met a girl who also has MG in for her treatment… she has the worst story on earth, I will relate at some future date, depressing and scary – her MG has ruined her life. Not the type of thing I wanted or needed to hear.
Have a Great Day
Hang in there, Chris. My thoughts are always with you.
