Stupefying Simplicity
In these difficult economic times when at every turn we’re faced with broken government, corporate bailouts, failing health care, a widening gap between the rich and poor, unemployment, and soaring debt, what are we to do…. You can start by looking for smart ways to do more with less, consciously choosing to live more simply is a practical, down-to-earth option that really works. Never does this become quite as clear as when you have no choice but to do more with less.
Ahhhh……. therein lies my new elixir of life……. doing more with less…. which coincidentally is the situation I find myself currently embroiled in…

I’m trying to cut out things that aren’t directly relevant to getting on with… things…. every-way & every-day while dealing with the grief and drama of my little soap opera existence.
That involves breaking things down to their most essential elements, removing the superficial, which is a challenge, because I’m nothing if not superficial – employing the KISS formula and looking on things, anything I may stumble upon or into in as positive a light as possible.
If only there were some kind of stupid, meaningless, analogy I could assign to my new-found life philosophy…. I’ve got it.. how about…. Gump!
Life… is like a box of chocolates…..
……a cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that no one ever asks for, unreturnable because all you can get back is another box of chocolates. So you’re stuck with mostly undefinable whipped mint crap, mindlessly wolfed down when there’s nothing else worth eating while you watch the game. Sure, once in a while you get a peanut butter cup or a nice english toffee but it’s over too fast and the taste is fleeting. In the end, you are left with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts, which, if you are desperate enough to eat, leaves nothing but an empty box of useless brown crinkly paper….. it’s life in a nutshell and my perfect analogy.
OK maybe I’ll keep looking but simple is something I will continue to explore…… of course I’m sure there is no shortage of people who feel I am plenty simple enough already…… haters……
